Aluora Community Guidelines
Aluora exists to preserve, document, share, and discuss cultural knowledge, identities, languages, archives, histories, traditions, and communities.
These Community Guidelines apply to all content, profiles, archives, collections, messages, comments, and interactions on Aluora.
1. Respect People and Communities
Treat all users, communities, cultures, clans, lineages, languages, and traditions with respect.
Harassment, intimidation, threats, and abuse are not permitted.
2. No Hate Speech
Aluora does not permit content that attacks, degrades, dehumanizes, or promotes hatred against individuals or groups based on ethnicity, tribe, nationality, race, religion, language, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
3. Cultural Accuracy and Good Faith
Users should make reasonable efforts to ensure cultural information is accurate and shared in good faith.
Historical, linguistic, genealogical, and cultural disagreements should be discussed respectfully.
4. Sacred and Restricted Knowledge
Some cultural knowledge may be sacred, restricted, ceremonial, confidential, or intended only for specific members of a community.
Users should ensure they have the authority or permission to share such material.
5. Clan, Lineage, and Community Identity
Users may describe their own identity, ancestry, lineage, clan, or community affiliation.
Users must not impersonate communities, clans, elders, historians, archivists, language experts, or cultural authorities.
6. Copyright and Ownership
Only upload content that you own or have permission to share, including photographs, recordings, artwork, documents, music, videos, and written materials.
Copyright complaints may be submitted through Aluora's reporting process.
7. Cultural Heritage and Traditional Knowledge
Aluora recognizes that many cultural materials belong collectively to communities rather than individual creators.
Aluora does not claim ownership of cultural heritage, oral traditions, traditional songs, ceremonies, clan histories, languages, folklore, or community knowledge contributed by users.
8. Spam and Manipulation
Spam, fake accounts, manipulation of rankings, deceptive behaviour, and unsolicited promotional content are prohibited.
9. Privacy and Personal Information
Respect the privacy of others.
Do not publish personal addresses, phone numbers, identification numbers, or sensitive personal information without permission.
10. Reporting Content
Users may report posts, comments, profiles, archives, collections, and cultural explanations.
Common report reasons include harassment, hate speech, spam, copyright infringement, misinformation, cultural misrepresentation, sacred knowledge disclosure, clan impersonation, and community impersonation.
11. Moderation Actions
Moderators may issue warnings, hide content, remove content, suspend accounts, reject verification requests, or permanently ban accounts where necessary.
12. Appeals
Users may appeal moderation decisions through the platform's appeals process when available.
13. Verification and Trust
Aluora may verify cultural knowledge, archive sources, historians, archivists, language experts, elders, and cultural contributors.
Verification does not constitute proof of ancestry, ethnicity, clan membership, lineage membership, or legal status.
14. Changes to These Guidelines
These Community Guidelines may be updated periodically.
Significant changes may require users to review and accept updated versions.
